I always wondered how it would feel like to join this club. If you live in Israel, now you can actually pay to join. :-) Here's a brief excerpt of an article on INQ7.net 's Road Trip : Israeli pilot offers romantic experience at 30,000 feet JERUSALEM--If you find bedroom sex boring, an Israeli company is now offering a romantic experience at an altitude of 30,000 feet. Massacre....

Image
As part of my office's 11th year anniversary celebration, a number of colleagues and I helped coordinate a goodwill exhibition match between a selection of the best players in our office and the San Miguel Basketball All-Stars . The game was held yesterday, and as expected, it was nothing less than a massacre . The All-Stars, featuring some of the best players to ever suit up in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), such as Ato Agustin, Vince Hizon, Pido Jarencio, Joey Santamaria, Bobby Jose and Cris Bolado made mincemeat of our team's defense, outscoring them by more than forty points when the final buzzer sounded. And they weren't even trying. Oh, of course it was all in good fun. :-) It was certainly a treat to watch the former PBA stars in action, not only for myself, but for the hundreds of officemates who took time out from pencil pushing to watch the game. While most of the All-Stars are retired from the PBA, they obviously haven't lost their touch, scori...

Spartan: Total Warrior

Image
Violent . Just simply and totally violent . If I had to describe Spartan: Total Warrior (S:TW). in just one word, that's what I would use, since frankly, no other word probably describes it better or more accurately. Published by SEGA and developed by Creative Assembly , the same people who gave us Rome: Total War , S:TW, despite the use of the Total War moniker, is not a strategy game. Its a straightforward hack and slash bloodfest wherein you play a solitary unnamed warrior referred to only as the Spartan . As the Spartan, the gods have imbued you with the power to defeat the Romans who are determined to conquer Sparta, the last Greek city-state to withstand the onslaught of the virtually unstoppable Roman juggernaut. Assisting you in this seemingly hopeless endeavor are hundreds of your fellow Spartans as well as fellow heroes Castor and Pollux (In Greek mythology, the twin sons of Leda and the brothers of Helen of Troy and Clytemnestra. Also the names of the criminal broth...

Never mind....

I was supposed to make a post today before I call it a night, but in the middle of the draft, Firefox just crashed on me. I lost the draft, and the recover post option didn't help. I'm too lazy to rewrite it, so I'll just type up this short rant. I'm used to application crashes happening on occassion. That's part of the experience of computing. Sometimes a program quits for no apparent reason. We grit our teeth, mutter an expletive under our breath, and carry on. But I'm kinda annoyed since I think it's Firefox itself which is at fault. I've been having Firefox crash on me with increasing frequency, and I find that alarming, more so considering that I'm using the latest version of the browser (1.5.0.1) and Firefox has never really been that unstable before version 1.5. And no, it's not a problem with my computer. It's only Firefox which crashes. I've lost more than my fair share of posts (silly me for not saving a draft in the middle ...
