Taking euthanasia too far....
If this isn't a case of euthanasia being taken too far I don't know what it. Here's a brief excerpt of a post made by Kitkat on her blog Through My Eyes:
Time is running out for Terri Schiavo, the 41-year-old woman sentenced to death by starvation. The order was made by Florida Judge George Greer, at the request of Terri's husband Michael. They claim Terri is in a persistent vegetative state (PVS) and that her case is hopeless. They say she is mindless; unable to respond to her environment. This is a bold-faced lie!
In 1990, Terri Schindler Schiavo underwent a fall that left her severely disabled and bedridden in a hospital. Her husband was given full legal control of her affairs. But all these years he has refused to allow Terri to undergo any medical treatment that might improve her condition, and now he is filing for the removal of her food and water tubes, sentencing her to the slow, agonizing death of starvation.
This must not be allowed to happen! Hundreds of letter from across the nation have been sent to Judge Greer, asking him to change his order and save Terri, but he has repeatedly refused to listen! Terri's parents have requested multiple times that Terri be placed in their care instead of her husband's, who is at the moment living with his girlfriend and their two children, but they also have been refused.
All life is sacred, and should be respected as such. Though we may at times be squeamish or indecisive when it comes to the issue of euthanasia, this isn't one of them. This is not euthanasia. This is murder.
