Gmail on your Nokia Series 60 phone....

Do you have a Gmail account and a Nokia Series 60 phone (like the 7650, 3650, 3660, 6600, 6620, 6630, 6670, 6680, 6681, 6260, 3230, 7610, N-Gage, N-Gage QD, etc.)? If you do, here are the steps that you can follow in order to configure your phone to receive email messages (directions may vary slightly depending on your phone model):

  1. Make sure your phone already has a set internet access point. You can get this information from your provider, or you can get the settings from Nokia either manually or via the downloadable Settings Wizard app from this page.

  2. First log in your Gmail account. Click "settings" on the upper right. Click on the "Forwarding and POP" tab, then click "Enable POP";

  3. Go to the messaging app on your Nokia, press "Options", go to "Settings" then "Email." Click on options again and select "New mailbox";

  4. Key in "Gmail" the space marked "Mailbox name";

  5. In the next space select the internet access point of your provider;

  6. Enter your email address in the next space;

  7. Key in "smtp.gmail.com" in the space marked "Outgoing mail server";

  8. In the space marked "User name" enter your email account's username. It's the email address sans the domain extension (i.e. john@gmail.com, the username is john);

  9. Enter your password in the space so marked;

  10. Key in "pop.gmail.com" in the space marked "Incoming mail server";

  11. Select "POP3" as the mailbox type;

  12. Set "Security" to "On." If a port number is required select port numbers 993 and 995;

  13. Set "APOP secure login" (for some Nokias) to "off".

That's it! Now all you have to do scroll to the Gmail mailbox icon in your messages menu, and click "Options" to send or receive email.
