But the best of all coffee, one that is made by hubby every morning from Second Cup's coffee beans. :)
I also missed my grandma's traditional rice coffee - Browning the rice in the pan, grinding them, pour in the hot water, add evaporated milk and honey.
CL: I don't think we have that chain here, too bad. I've never had rice coffee before, wonder what it tastes like. :-)
Snglguy: Yeah, it is that, but I still go there though. :-) If not there, I often end up in Mocha Blends. :-)
Rain: You still owe me a tall one dearie. :-)

I think Second Cup is still strictly Canadian. Second cup or Starbucks - price and taste almost the same. I find Second Cup coffee a little stronger (that I like - unleaded). There ain’t much competition between Starbucks and Second Cup in fact, all coffee shops are doing well - always a full house and most locations provide wi-fi connection which is the latest advertising strategy. Coffee is a year round indulgence - it's a cultural and social thing, rich or poor.
Let's call it, "the great equalizer." :-) If you ever drop my in Manila, let me buy you a cup. :-)

Oh just a cup? No refills? Thank you that would be nice.
22 long years since my last visit, there must be a lot of changes since then eh?
Curiosity sake, is Alfredo's Steak house still around? Is it still the popular and expensive place to dine? "Cash N Carry", is it still cashing out on people’s pocket?
22 years you say...We've had some changes here and there. :-)
Yep, Alfredo's is still up and about in Tomas Morato. Not really familiar about the prices though, for some reason I haven't gotten around to dining there yet. :-)
As for Cash N' Carry, I'm not sure. Its been a while since I've heard anyone refer to it, so I guess it either must have folded, or now just a shadow of its former glory. :-)
Now, there are SM's virtually everywhere, if you still remember them. :-)
While browsing Teacher Sol 's blog , I came across a post and an associated link to a news article that I read in interest. In a nutshell, both are about the Roman Catholic Church's recently released document instructing the faithful that some portions of the Bible are not actually true. Some excerpts from the article published by the Times Online : The Catholic bishops of England, Wales and Scotland are warning their five million worshippers, as well as any others drawn to the study of scripture, that they should not expect “total accuracy” from the Bible. “We should not expect to find in Scripture full scientific accuracy or complete historical precision,” they say in The Gift of Scripture. Well. It took them long enough. While the change in attitude in the Church is welcome, regretably it happened too late for the countless lives who suffered or died in the name of the scriptures, literally taken to be the "word" of God. Consider these passages in the Bible and...
Photos courtesy of Ghosthunter If you drive or are at least into cars, no doubt you've probably heard at one time or another about the Khaos Super Turbo Charger . It's a device that is claimed to drastically reduce the fuel consumption of your gasoline driven vehicle by as much as 50%. It created such a hype when it was introduced in November 2003 after glowing reviews and endorsements from, among others, the Department of Energy (DOE), the Makati Land Transportation Office (LTO) and Taiwan’s Automotive Research and Testing Center. Even MalacaƱang got into the picture, and presented the inventor, Pablo Planas, with a Presidential Award Medal for Outstanding Invention. All in all, various government agencies and government officials got into the picture, singing the praises of a device that miraculously reduces fuel consumption by a significant margin. As a result, in less than a year, more than 3,500 units were sold and installed to customers who swear by the product's effe...

I prefer Second Cup, Canada's finest.
