Guess who's back?
Virgilio Garcillano, the controversial former COMELEC Commissioner implicated in the "Hello Garci" brouhaha five months ago is reportedly back in the Philippines according to his wife.
Just when everyone seemed to be just about ready to close the book on the Gloriagate scandal, Garcillano's return suddenly brings new life into the issue.
So, did she or didn't she?
This is only one of the tons of questions that await him if he ever does make himself available for questioning either in Congress or in the Senate.
Of course, whether his return was a genuine attempt to return to the fold of the law and disclose what he truly knows, or a scripted attempt by MalacaƱang or perhaps even the opposition to muddle and manipulate the issue, that still remains to be seen. Anything said at this point will just be idle speculation.
Personally, I do hope he comes out with the truth. He is in a position to once and for all establish the veracity of the accusations against the President, assuming he was not bought or threatened.
And just possibly what it truly takes to get to the bottom of this issue, hold liable those who are accountable, if any, and close the book on this controversy once and for all.
Only then can this country move on.
Let us wait and see.
Quaere Verum.
