Answered Prayers....

For the last several days, I seem to be feeling a tad under the weather. I'm not really sick, but I just feel somewhat awful. The bout of elevated blood pressure that I had soon after the conclusion of my travels has passed somewhat, but I still feel kinda fatigued and I also have to deal with the nuisance of a cold sore on my upper lip. Its all getting better now, but somehow I can't help but feel a bit grumpy with all of these troublesome aches and pains. The rains aren't helping either.

Could it be that all those years of drinking till the wee hours of the morning, smoking, lack of exercise, and stress could be taking its toll? Probably. I'm not getting any younger as well, so I should be taking better care of my health.

The fact that I'm a hypochondriac of sorts, and an obsessive-compulsive in general doesn't help matters either. It seems that I was genetically predisposed to just wallow in stress...not something that I enjoy but inevitably seem to gravitate to. :-( Physical stress, mental stress, emotional stress...you name it, I have it. :-) Hey its not my fault. I'm somehow always in the middle of things, whether I like it or not. :-)

That's probably why I like blogging a lot. Helps me cope in a way. :-)

Oh well. That's life. Or rather, that's my life. But that's not what this post is about. Its about God answering your prayers in the most unexpected of ways. This is what happened to me yesterday at work.

I was grumbling and complaining silently to myself on how miserable I felt, and in my mind I asked God to help me feel better. Not only regarding the physical pains I felt (which weren't that bad to begin with, I just somehow tend to wallow in my own misery) but the mental and emotional pains as well.

Lo and behold, I never expected God to answer my prayers immediately. Literally. While mumbling to myself, I went to my superior's office to drop off a document for his signature. After I left it on the table, I passed by the bulletin board. This is what I saw:

How's that for an answer? Straight and direct to the point. Its true what they say. God works in mysterious ways. I feel better already. :-)
